Among the three major cities of Kathmandu valley, Bhaktapur retains some of its ancient way of life, reminding you of what the entire Kathmandu valley must have looked like during the medieval period. The remarkable architecture, the exquisite woodcarvings and metal craft that can be seen around the city takes one back to the time of the Malla rulers who patronized art like no other dynasty. The pagoda style temples rise above the Bhaktapur skyline, the Pottery square, the Palace (Durbar) Square which dates back to the 12th century, where devotees still celebrate their centuries old festivals and the temple squares that still remain vibrant, are Bhaktapurβs major attractions. The Cityβs archaic look itself draws tourists besides the elaborate festivals that remain unchanged for centuries. The Durbar Square is one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites of the valley.

Whole day Jungle Safari (Elephant ride, canoe ride, visit to Elephant breeding center, bird watching etc.) There is also a slogan "Visit Chitwan, Ride Elephant" popularized for promotion of tourism in Sauraha. Four persons can ride an elephant at one time. Seated high on the back of a trained elephant exploring the grassland and core area of the park, you became a integral part of the life of the national park. The elephant safari through, not the most comfortable rides, is an amazing experience. And it doesn't take to long spot at least a rhino in the forest. They generally last between 1 and 1.5 hours. If you came to Chitwan to relax, the canoe ride is a good way to do so. Also after a few days in the wild, this is great chance to become calm again with a canoe you will slowly pass the shores of the rivers which are full with amazing crocodiles and beautiful birds. During the trip you are accompanied by a guide who will tell you about the animals. Off course you donβt have to peddle yourself as a boatman joins the ride. Of all the animals, elephant probably are the most graceful. On your visit to the hattisar (Elephant Breeding Center) you will demonstrate how elephantβs meals are prepared and how they eat, and you will get various information on the nature and habits of elephants. The unique center was established in 1985 for the captive breeding of domesticated elephant trapping for domestication. Located in Sauraha the Elephant breeding center was set up to protect the endangered elephants in the region. There are often many baby elephants there and a small museum. The center is walkable from Sauraha but it will take 1 hour depending on the heat and road conditions. Tours or rickshaw transport are available part of the way.
